Forklift Operative

Job Title: Forklift Operative

Location: Tilbury, Thurrock

Pay Rate:

• Days: 13.70 per hour PAYE

• Nights: 14.17 per hour PAYE (Providing you pass the temp to perm period, yearly salary increases to £33,000 per annum)

Shift Patterns Available:

• Days: 11 00

• Nights: 19 00

Working Schedule:

• Monday to Friday

Contract:

• 13-week temporary to permanent position

Job Responsibilities:

• Operating a counterbalance forklift safely and efficiently for loading and unloading timber sheets.

• Accurately picking and transporting timber products to designated storage areas.

• Manual handling, including lifting, moving, and stacking goods securely.

• Conducting detailed quality checks on incoming and outgoing goods to ensure they meet required standards.

• Reporting any damaged goods or discrepancies promptly to supervisors.

• Maintaining warehouse cleanliness and organisation, ensuring workspaces remain safe and accessible.

• Following health and safety guidelines rigorously to promote a secure working environment for all employees.

• Assisting with inventory management and stock control when required.

Requirements:

• Valid Counterbalance Forklift License

• Previous warehouse experience

• Strong communication skills

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Reliable and punctual with good attendance record

Desired Experience:

• Prior experience working specifically with timber products is beneficial but not essential
