Are you an experienced Design Engineer with a knack for turning concepts into precise technical drawings? A leading global systems integrator in the defence and maritime sector is seeking a talented individual to join their engineering and project teams, producing high-quality electrical and mechanical designs for cutting-edge communications and IT systems.

The Role

You'll be responsible for developing and refining design concepts, producing detailed 2D and 3D drawings, and ensuring compliance with industry standards. This is a hands-on role where your technical expertise and problem-solving mindset will be key to delivering bespoke solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Create electrical and mechanical drawings to ISO standards using CAD tools (AutoCAD, SEE Electrical, ETAP, etc.)
• Develop design concepts from first principles
• Generate STEP files and Visio diagrams for internal and external use
• Ensure compliance with BS7671, BS8888, EMC, LVD, and other relevant standards
• Support the selection and implementation of CAD software
• Collaborate across engineering and project teams to meet tight deadlines

What You'll Bring

• HND/HNC, apprenticeship or equivalent in engineering
• 4+ years' experience producing electronic and mechanical drawings
• Strong understanding of electrical safety, compliance, and manufacturing techniques
• Experience with control panels, 19" racks, and enclosure design
• Proficient in CAD software and standard office applications
• Ability to work independently, manage changing priorities, and deliver high-quality work
• SC Clearance (or ability to obtain)
