Deputy Manager Ofsted - Residential Home for Young People

Permanent - Full Time
Location: Sawbridgeworth
Salary: 30,000 - 35,000 per annum (depending on experience)

About the Role:
Our client is looking for a passionate and dedicated Deputy Manager to join their team in residential care home for young people in Sawbridgeworth. In this role, you will work closely with the Home Manager to ensure the smooth and effective day-to-day running of the home.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide high-quality care for young people, ensuring their safety and well-being.
• Support the Home Manager in all aspects of home management, including staff supervision, rota planning, and quality assurance.
• Work closely with young people, their families, and other professionals to develop and implement individual care plans.
• Mentor and support the Residential Childcare Worker team, fostering a positive and supportive working environment.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and best practice guidelines.
• Deputise for the Home Manager in their absence.
• Participate in on-call rota as required.

Essential Criteria:

• Diploma Level 3 in Residential Childcare or equivalent.
• Proven experience of working in a residential care setting for young people.
• Experience of supervising and mentoring staff.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong understanding of child protection and safeguarding procedures.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
• Flexibility and adaptability to meet the needs of young people.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
• Experience of working with young people with challenging behaviour.
• Knowledge of relevant legislation and regulations (e.g., Children Act 1989).
