Job Description: Learning Support Assistant

Job Overview:
We are seeking a Learning Support Assistant to join our team and work alongside teachers to support students' learning and personal development. The role requires working with students who may have a range of additional needs, providing tailored support to help them achieve their educational goals and build confidence.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support students in the classroom by assisting with learning activities, ensuring they understand tasks and complete work to the best of their ability.
• Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with additional learning needs or challenges.
• Help students with social, emotional, and behavioral needs to integrate into school life.
• Assist in the preparation of learning materials and adapt resources to meet individual needs.
• Support students in developing their independence both in the classroom and around the school.
• Foster positive relationships with students, ensuring they feel valued and understood.
• Monitor and record student progress, reporting back to teachers as necessary.
• Support students during break times, ensuring a safe and inclusive environment.
• Attend staff meetings and contribute to collaborative planning and review of student progress.

Key Skills & Qualifications:

• Experience working with students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) or in an educational support role is desirable.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with students and staff.
• Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude towards supporting students with a variety of needs.
• A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work under pressure.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
• A willingness to undertake further training as required.
