About the Role:
As a Science Technician, you will support the delivery of high-quality science lessons by providing technical assistance to teachers and students. You will be responsible for preparing and maintaining laboratory equipment, ensuring health and safety standards are met, and helping to create an engaging and effective learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare materials and equipment for practical lessons in Biology, Chemistry, and Physics
Maintain and safely store laboratory equipment and chemicals
Support teachers during practical lessons where necessary
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations in all lab activities
Assist with the ordering and inventory of science supplies
Contribute to the smooth day-to-day running of the science department
Requirements:
A background in science (e.g. A-Levels, degree, or prior lab experience)
Previous experience working as a Science Technician in a school is desirable but not essential
Strong organisational and time management skills
A good understanding of laboratory health and safety procedures
A proactive, reliable, and flexible approach to work
Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply through Aspire People)
