Role

My client are a dynamic and growing refurbishment contractor committed to delivering refurbishment contarcts for local councils and housing associations.

We are currently seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Administrator to join our team. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the daily administrative operations of our projects and office, ensuring smooth and efficient workflows across departments.

Role Overview

As an Administrator, you will provide essential administrative support to project teams, site staff, and office personnel. Your role will involve managing documentation, coordinating communications, and ensuring accurate record-keeping in a fast-paced construction environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide general administrative support to office and site teams.

  • Manage and maintain project documentation, files, and records (e.g., drawings, permits, contracts).

  • Assist in preparing reports, meeting minutes, and correspondence.

  • Handle incoming and outgoing communications, including emails, phone calls, and mail.

  • Support procurement by processing purchase orders and liaising with suppliers.

  • Track deliveries and ensure materials are scheduled and documented accurately.

  • Maintain and update internal systems such as project databases, timesheets, and registers.

  • Help coordinate meetings, appointments, and schedules for team members.

  • Support compliance with health & safety and other regulatory requirements by ensuring proper documentation is completed and filed.

  • Assist with onboarding and administrative tasks for new starters or subcontractors.

  • Contribute to improving administrative processes and supporting office efficiency.

Essential:

  • Previous experience in an administrative role, ideally within the construction or related industry.

  • Strong organisational and time-management skills with attention to detail.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to multitask and prioritise workload in a busy environment.

  • Proactive, reliable, and able to work both independently and as part of a team.

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of construction processes or terminology.

  • Familiarity with health & safety administrative requirements in construction.
