Social Work Team Manager to join our Long Term Care and Support service in Medway. This role sits within a locality team supporting people from all user groups who have ongoing needs in the Gillingham and Rainham area.You will work alongside two other Team Managers, leading a committed service that places the individual at the heart of everything we do. This is an exciting opportunity for a strong leader with a passion for high-quality adult social care.Key Responsibilities
- Leadership & Team Management: Lead, motivate, and develop a team of social workers and professionals. Oversee appraisals, staff development, and promote a strengths-based approach.
- Performance Management: Drive team performance using the Quality Assurance Framework, ensuring statutory compliance and continuous improvement.
- Resource Allocation: Manage resources within budget, prioritising caseloads effectively to maintain high service standards.
- Service Improvement: Collaborate with the Operations Manager to develop services, implement new approaches, and respond to local and national priorities.
- Support & Development: Share best practice, mentor newly qualified staff and students, and foster a culture of learning.
- Safeguarding & Welfare: Ensure all work promotes the safety and wellbeing of people we support.
- Business Continuity: Provide cover for colleagues and senior managers when required.
About You We are looking for someone who can bring both
strong leadership and
a deep understanding of adult social care. You will have:
- Proven experience managing teams within adult social care.
- Knowledge of safeguarding policies and legislation.
- Strong communication, coaching, and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to manage budgets and resources effectively.
- A proactive, flexible approach with the ability to adapt to change.
- A commitment to promoting professional development and best practice.
