SEN Learning Support Assistant

We are seeking a caring and dedicated Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join a primary school in Brent. This is a term-time only role, working Monday to Friday, supporting pupils with SEN and ASD on a one-to-one or small group basis. You will play a vital role in helping pupils engage with learning, develop confidence, and achieve personal and academic progress.

Responsibilities include:

• Supporting children with ASD and other additional needs in class and during activities.
• Adapting learning materials and approaches to suit individual needs.
• Encouraging positive behaviour, independence, and confidence.
• Working collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and parents to implement individual learning plans.
• Promoting a safe, caring, and inclusive learning environment.

We are looking for someone who is:

• Patient, empathetic, and enthusiastic about supporting children's development.
• Experienced in working with children with SEN and ASD (school or care setting experience desirable).
• A strong communicator and effective team player.
• Flexible, reliable, and eager to learn.
• Passionate about making a positive difference in the lives of young learners.

Desirable qualifications and skills:

• Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification.
• Experience with PECS, Makaton, or similar communication systems.
• Training in de-escalation or behaviour management techniques.
