Junior Commercial Manager - Mechanical Contractor (New Build Housing)

Due to winning new projects and organic growth, my client is looking for a Junior Commercial Manager to oversee commercial administration of high-quality plumbing, heating, and ventilation solutions for some of the UK's top housebuilders. This would be suitable for a Quantity Surveyor who is looking to join a company that is going through a rapid growth spell - you would be joining at the early stages which will naturally lead to progression to Commercial Manager later down the line

The Role

As a Junior Commercial Manager, you'll play a key role in supporting the commercial operations of projects. Reporting to the Managing Director you will assist in cost management, procurement, valuations, and contract administration. This is a fantastic opportunity to develop your career in a growing company with a strong pipeline of work.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing cost estimates, budgets, and forecasts
• Support the management of contracts, ensuring compliance with terms and conditions
• Work with suppliers and subcontractors to secure competitive pricing
• Assist with valuations, variations, and final accounts
• Monitor project costs and highlight potential risks or overspends
• Liaise with site teams, clients, and stakeholders to ensure smooth commercial operations
• Support in producing financial reports and documentation

Requirements:

• Experience in a commercial or quantity surveying role within the mechanical, plumbing, or construction sector
• A relevant qualification such as a degree/HNC in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Building Services, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
• Strong numerical and analytical skills
• Excellent communication and negotiation abilities
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
• A proactive and detail-oriented approach

Package:

• Salary in the region of 40,000 which can be negotiated for the right person
• Progression to Commercial Manager
• 8% pension
• 28 days holiday
