We are seeking a dedicated SEN Teacher, specializing in Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), to join our inclusive and supportive throughout school in Maidstone. This permanent role is an excellent opportunity for a compassionate educator who is passionate about making a significant impact in the lives of students with ASD.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Develop and implement individualized educational plans (IEPs) tailored to the specific needs of students with ASD.
  • Deliver engaging and differentiated lessons that cater to the unique learning styles and abilities of each student.
  • Employ a variety of teaching techniques and tools, including technology, to enhance student learning and engagement.
  • Collaborate with other teachers, parents, and specialists to maximize student learning and well-being.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, adapting teaching strategies and techniques to meet the evolving needs of the students.
  • Create a supportive, structured, and predictable classroom environment that helps students with ASD feel secure and motivated to learn.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in teaching students with ASD.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent, with a focus or qualification in Special Educational Needs (SEN).
  • Proven experience working with students with Autism Spectrum Disorder.
  • Strong understanding of the challenges and best practices for teaching students with ASD.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with team members and communicate with families.
  • Patience, resilience, and a commitment to creating a positive learning environment.
  • Ability to adapt teaching methods and materials to meet the needs of students with ASD.
