Contract Type: Full-time, Fixed Term (12 months)A well-established provider of specialist care and education services is seeking an experienced Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) Practitioner to join their regional team on a 12-month fixed term contract. Key Responsibilities:Promoting Quality of Life: - Ensure the voice of the individual is central to all planning and intervention.
- Support staff teams in reducing restrictive practices by developing proactive strategies and person-centred support plans.
- Collaborate with families, internal colleagues and external professionals to achieve the best possible outcomes.
- Assist teams in capturing and evaluating outcomes to inform best practice and continuous improvement.
Championing Values: - Model and promote the organisation's core values in everyday practice.
- Champion Positive Behaviour Support approaches across services and inspire others through guidance and mentoring.
- Support and uphold internal governance and compliance processes in relation to PBS.
Building Capacity: - Contribute to peer learning networks and reflective practice forums.
- Deliver practice-based training to ensure staff are equipped with the tools and knowledge to support individuals effectively.
- Provide hands-on guidance, leadership and mentoring to PBS Coaches and frontline teams, particularly during times of change or challenge.
- Ensure all strategies and plans are aligned with current legislation, internal policies and sector best practice.
Understanding Behaviour: - Provide supervision and oversight in the completion of Functional Behaviour Assessments and PBS Plans.
- Offer consultation and feedback to teams to inform and improve support strategies.
- Develop analytical and reflective skills within staff teams and promote data-informed practice.
Candidate Requirements:Essential: - Recognised PBS qualification (e.g. CAPBS Coaches Award or equivalent).
- Minimum 2 years' experience in a PBS Practitioner or similar role.
- Proven experience facilitating training sessions.
- Demonstrated success in coaching teams to reduce restrictive practices and improve quality of life outcomes.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to adapt to various audiences.
- Strong report writing and analytical skills, with the ability to use data to inform practice.
- A high level of self-motivation and professional standards.
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
- Willingness to travel regionally and stay overnight occasionally as required.
Desirable: - Qualifications in Health and Social Care, Education and Training, or a related degree.
- Experience in service development, quality improvement, or multi-agency collaboration.
