Turner Property Recruitment are pleased to be working with a well known consultancy on an exciting new opportunity.

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Head of Neighbourly Matters to lead and grow a specialist team within a respected construction consultancy. This role is based in London but involves projects across the UK, providing expert advice and management of all neighbourly and community-related matters.

This is an exciting opportunity for a candidate who wants to either bring an existing team or build a new team, shaping the service offering and driving the business forward in this specialist area.



Purpose of the Role

The Head of Neighbourly Matters will provide leadership, oversight, and strategic direction for all neighbourly and community-related services. You will work closely with clients, internal teams, and stakeholders to ensure effective management of disputes, agreements, and compliance issues, while delivering exceptional client service across the UK.



Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, manage, and develop a team of specialists in neighbourly matters, either building a team from scratch or integrating an existing team
  • Oversee and deliver projects across the UK, including party wall matters, rights of light, easements, access agreements, and other neighbour-related issues
  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients, providing expert advice and strategic guidance
  • Ensure consistency in delivery, quality, and compliance across all projects
  • Develop and implement best practices, procedures, and processes for the neighbourly matters function
  • Support business development, winning new work and expanding service offerings
  • Mentor and support team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment
  • Liaise with legal advisors, surveyors, developers, and other stakeholders to resolve disputes or agreements efficiently
  • Contribute to wider business strategy and the positioning of the organisation as a market leader in this specialist area



Person Specification

  • Extensive experience in neighbourly matters, party wall, rights of light, easements, and related property issues
  • Strong leadership skills, with experience managing or building high-performing teams
  • Excellent client-facing and stakeholder management abilities
  • Strategic thinker with commercial awareness and the ability to identify new business opportunities
  • Strong problem-solving, negotiation, and decision-making skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities across the UK
  • Professional qualification relevant to property, surveying, or legal aspects is highly desirable
