Job Title: Data Cabling Engineers
Location: Hammersmith
Salary: 200 per day
Duration: 2-3 Months + Extension The Role - iCobus are recruiting for multiple Data Cabling Engineers to work on a structured cabling installation project in Hammersmith, starting at the beginning of February 2024.
The Scope The on-site installation, termination, and testing of a range of data cabling, including Cat6 and Cat6a copper cabling and fiber optic cabling, to the highest industry standards.
Qualification Requirements: - ECS Card
- IPAF License
- SSSTS (Is Ideal)
- Copper & Fibre Cabling Certifcations (Is Ideal)
Tools & PPE Requirements: - 5 Point PPE (Boots, Hi-Vis Vest, Goggles, Gloves, Hard-Hat)
- SDS Drills, Combi & Impact Drills
- Mod-Tap Tester & Toner
- Copper & Fibre Terminating Tools
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: - Install, terminate, and test Cat6 and Cat6a copper cabling according to industry best practices and project specifications.
- Neatly dress cables within cabinets, adhering to cable management best practices.
- Terminate cables onto patch panels and field outlets accurately and efficiently.
- Set up and operate a Fluke DSX-5000 cable certifier correctly to ensure compliance with relevant industry standards (e.g., TIA/EIA).
- Troubleshoot and resolve any cabling-related issues that may arise during installation or testing.
- Maintain accurate records of all cabling installations and test results.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies.
- Work effectively as part of a team and independently as required.
- Provide excellent customer service to internal and external clients.
Qualifications and Experience: - Proven experience in installing, terminating, and testing Cat6 and Cat6a copper cabling.
- Experience with fiber optic cabling installation, termination, and testing is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of cable management principles and best practices.
- Proficiency in using cable certification equipment, such as the Fluke DSX-5000.
- Knowledge of relevant industry standards (e.g., TIA/EIA).
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Good knowledge of health and safety standards within a construction environment.
