Mechanical Design Engineer

I m currently recruiting for a highly skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to join a well-established and innovative team based in Hertfordshire. Since 1997, this company has been designing and manufacturing cutting-edge equipment and machinery, delivering tailored solutions to a wide range of industries globally.

As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for researching, designing, and developing these systems using SolidWorks. You ll be part of a team that works through projects from the initial design phase to completion, with a deep focus on machining, tooling, structural frameworks, and automation solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Research and design bespoke special purpose systems using SolidWorks.
• Work closely with the R&D team to ensure the product specifications meet the customer s needs and expectations.
• Take a hands-on approach, seeing projects through from concept to completion, designing components, tooling, and conveyor systems.
• Design sheet metal parts, pneumatic and hydraulic systems, pick-and-place assemblies, and automation solutions.
• Collaborate with in-house mechanical and electrical design teams to ensure quality at every stage of the build process.

Key Requirements:

• Relevant industry experience in mechanical design and manufacturing.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks or similar CAD software.
• Strong understanding of machining processes, tooling, and structural frameworks.
• Knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic systems and automation solutions is desirable.
• Ability to work well in a collaborative, multidisciplinary team environment.
• Strong problem-solving and project management skills.

Working Hours:

• Monday to Thursday: 8:45 AM 5:00 PM
• Friday: 8:45 AM 4:00 PM
