The Opportunity: We re looking for an experienced Associate Director Building Surveyor to step into a pivotal leadership role within a growing team. This is an ideal position for a Chartered Building Surveyor (MRICS) with strong project management capabilities and a track record of delivering top-tier work across diverse sectors.
You'll take charge of everything from technical due diligence and estate work (including projects with GPE), to defects analysis, social housing schemes, educational refurbishments, and beyond.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead & Deliver: Take ownership of new build and refurbishment projects across mixed-use, industrial, commercial, residential, and educational sectors.
  • Client Champion: Be the go-to expert for clients offering sound advice on procurement, cost, programme, and risk.
  • Build Relationships: Nurture lasting relationships with existing clients while identifying and pursuing new business opportunities.
  • Manage & Mentor: Help steer office operations, support the development of junior staff, and contribute to a thriving team culture.
  • Drive Quality: Ensure every project is delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.
  • Control Budgets: Monitor project costs, track financial performance, and report regularly to leadership.
  • Innovate & Solve: Apply creative thinking to complex challenges and help drive continuous improvement across the team.
  • Support Growth: Play an active role in recruitment, team expansion, and the future growth strategy of the business.
What We re Looking For:
  • MRICS Chartered Building Surveyor
  • Significant experience leading complex construction and refurbishment projects
  • Broad sector knowledge: retail, industrial, social housing, commercial, and education
  • Skilled in defects analysis, specification writing, and project tendering
  • Strong communicator and natural leader
  • Financially astute with solid risk management and project budgeting experience
  • Familiarity with PRINCE2 or equivalent project methodologies
  • Proactive, ambitious, and passionate about delivering real value
