We are seeking an Inclusion Mentor to join our team at a secondary alternative provision in Milton Keynes. This role is ideal for someone passionate about supporting young people in overcoming barriers to education and fostering an inclusive learning environment.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Work directly with students to provide tailored support and mentorship.
- Develop and implement strategies to promote inclusion and engagement within the classroom.
- Collaborate with teachers and other staff to support students' educational and social development.
- Monitor and report on the progress of students, identifying any additional needs or support required.
- Facilitate group sessions and one-to-one meetings with students to discuss their challenges and achievements.
- Act as a positive role model, inspiring students to achieve their full potential.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Experience in mentoring or supporting young people, particularly in an educational setting.
- Strong understanding of the challenges faced by students in alternative provision settings.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to handle sensitive situations with empathy and discretion.
