Freight Forwarder

Our client is a well-established logistics provider with a strong presence across the UK and Europe. Known for their reliability and customer-focused service, they manage temperature-controlled and ambient freight solutions for a diverse portfolio of clients. With continued growth across their European network, they are seeking an experienced Freight Forwarder to join their dynamic operations team based near Folkestone.

Description

As a Freight Forwarder, you will play a key role in coordinating international shipments, ensuring all movements are completed efficiently and in line with customer expectations. You will manage end-to-end freight operations, liaising with internal teams, external partners, and clients to deliver exceptional service.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage import and export freight movements across European routes
• Liaise daily with hauliers, customers, and partner offices to ensure timely deliveries
• Prepare and manage all relevant transport documentation
• Track and monitor shipments, proactively resolving any service issues
• Provide accurate quotations and maintain cost control on all jobs
• Ensure compliance with customs and legal requirements
• Maintain strong working relationships with customers to enhance service levels

Profile

The ideal candidate will be a confident communicator with solid experience in European freight forwarding. You will be organised, commercially aware, and thrive in a fast-paced logistics environment.

You will ideally have:

• Experience in a Freight Forwarding or Transport Operations role
• Strong knowledge of European road freight and customs processes
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Proficiency in transport management systems (TMS) and Microsoft Office
• The ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
• The ability to speak another european language is desired but not requried

Job Offer

On offer for the successful Freight Forwarder candidate is the following:

• Base Salary - £40k
• Monday to Friday (8am-5pm)
• On call rota bonus for each call taken
