We are seeking a Professional Support Lawyer (PSL) to join the Employment team of a progressive, top 100 law firm. In this role, you will be instrumental in ensuring that our teams are equipped with the necessary knowledge, resources, and training to deliver high-quality legal services. You will be responsible for creating, maintaining, and disseminating legal knowledge and best practices, enhancing the department's efficiency and effectiveness, and contributing to business development and sustainable growth.
Responsibilities
- Review, update, and manage the department's legal knowledge database, including precedent/template documents, contracts, policies, and guidance, ensuring it is comprehensive, up-to-date, and accessible.
- Develop and manage the department's annual support service, enhancing client benefits.
- Compile and summarise relevant legal updates, case law, and legislative changes, distributing these insights regularly to the legal team, including through face-to-face/online training sessions.
- Monitor and analyse trends in the legal industry, advising the department on potential impacts and opportunities.
- Create content for workshops, seminars, and webinars on specialised legal topics and skills development, aligned with our Marketing and Business Development Strategy.
- Participate in presentations, offering expert insights and support.
- Manage departmental and cross-functional projects and initiatives, taking specific responsibility and accountability.
- Develop a clear understanding of department KPIs and performance and contribute actively towards these.
- Stay abreast of changes in the relevant legal sector and/or practice area and input ideas into the department strategy, including product/service lines.
Skills, Experience, and Attributes
- Qualified Solicitor/Legal Executive with experience in an Employment Law team.
- A minimum of 5 years of legal practice experience. Prior experience in knowledge management or training roles is beneficial.
- Extensive knowledge of various areas of law relevant to your department, with the ability to research and interpret complex legal issues.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and effectively.
- Strong ability to design and deliver effective training programs and workshops.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
- Highly organised, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues and clients.
- Proficiency in legal research databases, knowledge management systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.
