The Role

Do you see yourself making a real difference in the lives of children and young people with SEND?

Can you use your knowledge of statutory processes and person-centred planning to support children and families?

Does the idea of working in a collaborative, child-focused environment motivate you?

If yes, we have the perfect role for you!

Our SEND Team is looking for a passionate and dedicated EHCP Coordinator to join our amazing service and help make a difference today.

About the Role:

As an EHCP Coordinator, you will take the lead in managing the end-to-end Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) process for children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). This includes coordinating statutory assessments, drafting high-quality EHCPs, supporting annual reviews, and ensuring all activity is carried out in line with the SEND Code of Practice and relevant legislation.

You will:

  • Be the main point of contact for families throughout the EHCP process
  • Work directly with children, families, schools, and professionals to develop person-centred, outcome-focused plans
  • Ensure all plans and reviews are delivered within statutory timelines
  • Represent the local authority at key multi-agency meetings and decision-making panels
  • Manage placements and phase transfers for pupils with EHCPs
  • Support quality assurance and contribute to service improvement

This is a 6-month fixed term contract.

You will have:

  • Proven experience in EHCP coordination, SEND casework, or a related field
  • A strong understanding of the SEND Code of Practice and statutory responsibilities
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to manage complex and sensitive situations
  • Confidence in facilitating multi-agency meetings and leading person-centred reviews
  • The ability to analyse professional reports and produce clear, high-quality EHCPs
  • The ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • A relevant qualification in education, health, social care, or a related field (desirable)

About the Team:

Our SEND Team is dedicated to supporting children and young people with SEND and their families across Southwark. We are a collaborative, compassionate, and experienced team committed to person-centred practice, co-production, and delivering high-quality services that improve lives.

You will be joining a team where your voice matters, and your skills will help shape the future of inclusive education in the borough. Ongoing training and development opportunities are available to support your growth.
