Job Summary:We are seeking highly skilled and compassionate Chemotherapy Nurses with a valid SACT (Systemic Anti-Cancer Therapy) Passport to join an NHS Trust in Hertfordshire. This is an ongoing requirement to support a busy oncology/haematology unit in delivering high-quality systemic anti-cancer treatment to patients in both inpatient and outpatient settings. Candidates must be confident working independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced clinical environment.
We welcome applicants available on a full-time basis or 2+ days per week.
Key Responsibilities:- Administer systemic anti-cancer treatments safely and in accordance with SACT protocols
- Monitor patients throughout chemotherapy cycles for adverse reactions and escalating concerns appropriately
- Provide education, emotional support, and clinical advice to patients and their families
- Conduct assessments, observations, and documentation in line with Trust policy and NMC standards
- Liaise effectively with the multidisciplinary team including oncologists, pharmacists, and specialist nurses
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of treatment regimens, side effects, and complications
- Adhere strictly to infection control, safety procedures, and clinical governance frameworks
- Participate in MDT meetings and contribute to treatment planning and patient progress reviews
Essential Requirements:- Valid NMC Registration - Adult Nurse
- Current SACT Passport (UKONS-accredited) - Mandatory
- Minimum of 6 months chemotherapy experience within the NHS
- IV administration and cannulation skills
- Sound knowledge of cancer treatment pathways and side effect management
- Excellent communication, documentation, and interpersonal skills
- Able to work autonomously and handle high-pressure clinical situations
- Up-to-date mandatory training including BLS, infection control, and safeguarding
Shift Patterns:- Monday to Friday (core hours), with potential for weekend flexibility
- Full-time (37.5 hours/week) or minimum of 2 shifts per week
