The Role:
Long Term Futures is seeking a committed and empathetic Behaviour Mentor to join a reputable secondary school in Barking (RM6). This role is ideal for individuals passionate about supporting students' behavioural and emotional development, helping them overcome challenges to achieve their full potential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-on-one and group mentoring to students, addressing behavioural, social, and emotional issues
- Develop and implement personalised behaviour support plans, in collaboration with teaching staff and the pastoral team
- Monitor and record student progress, maintaining accurate and confidential records
- Promote positive behaviour and relationships, contributing to a safe and inclusive school environment
- Liaise with parents, carers, and external agencies, ensuring a holistic approach to student support
Who We're Looking For:
- Experience in a behaviour mentor or similar role, preferably within a secondary school setting
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with students and staff
- Patience, empathy, and resilience, with a genuine passion for supporting young people
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team, contributing to the school's pastoral care system
- Knowledge of behaviour management strategies and a commitment to continuous professional development
