Supervising Family Solicitor

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Supervising Family Solicitor to join the new department of a dynamic and growing practice in London. This role is ideal for a professional committed to delivering justice and outstanding results for our clients. The successful candidate will oversee the delivery of high-quality family law services, supervise junior staff members, and manage a caseload of complex private family matters including divorce, child arrangements, domestic abuse, and financial settlements.
Day-to-day of the role:
Supervision & Leadership
- Provide supervision and guidance to a junior solicitor and trainee.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and internal policies.
- Conduct regular file reviews and support professional development.
Case Management
- Manage a caseload of private family law matters including divorce, separation, financial disputes, and child arrangements.
- Represent clients in court and liaise with external agencies and counsel.
- Draft legal documents, statements, and correspondence.
Client Care
- Deliver empathetic, client-focused legal advice.
- Maintain high standards of confidentiality and professionalism.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships.
Compliance & Risk
- Ensure adherence to SRA Code of Conduct and Lexcel standards.
- Monitor risk and escalate issues appropriately.
- Maintain accurate records and billing information.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Qualified Solicitor with at least 3 years PQE in family law.
- Proven ability to supervise and lead a team.
- Strong case management skills and experience handling complex family law cases.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to high ethical standards and professionalism.
- Familiarity with SRA Code of Conduct and Lexcel standards.
