Smart4 EPC is partnering with a leading M&E contractor in the construction industry, to find a talented Mechanical Construction Manager to join their team. This role requires a strong focus on project execution, safety, compliance, and quality control. As a key player in the project team, you will oversee the mechanical aspects of construction, ensuring the timely delivery of projects while maintaining high standards of safety and quality.

Role Overview:
The Mechanical Construction Manager will manage the mechanical services on-site, ensuring efficient project execution, compliance with safety regulations, and the delivery of high-quality results. You will be responsible for coordinating with various teams, managing subcontractors, and overseeing the completion of HVAC systems and other mechanical services.

Key Responsibilities:

Site Management & Communication:
- Maintain the Site Diary, documenting daily activities and project progress.

- Lead the DABS (Daily Activity Briefings).

- Manage client communications, ensuring clear and effective interaction with all stakeholders.
- Coordinate and sequence the installation of mechanical services, ensuring alignment with project schedules.

Documentation & Compliance:

- Prepare method statements and risk assessments for all construction activities, ensuring HVAC deliverable meet project and safety criteria.

- Oversee both onsite and offsite construction activities, ensuring compliance with building codes and safety regulations.

- Ensure plant materials on-site meet agreed specifications and are safely stored.

Project Commercials & Planning:

- Validate the project upon handover from estimating and proceed with procurement of equipment, sub-contractors, and suppliers.

- Assist with documenting and costing changes to work scopes, prepare monthly valuations, and manage final accounts.

- Support project scheduling, including creating 12-week look-ahead plans, reporting on progress, and identifying potential roadblocks.

- Ensure that labor requirements align with the project timeline and program.

Quality Control & Subcontractor Management:

- Maintain a high standard of quality in all mechanical works and manage subcontractor activities.

- Ensure variations and delays are reported to Project Management in a timely manner.

- Lead commissioning activities, ensuring the mechanical systems are completed on time and address any issues promptly.

Health, Safety & Compliance:

- Ensure strict adherence to Health & Safety standards on-site, ensuring that all subcontractors are working safely.

- Implement improvements to safety procedures and complete weekly Observation cards to identify safety enhancements.

- Maintain high standards of housekeeping across the site.

- Collaborate with package managers to develop and enforce company procedures.

Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, candidates should have:

- Experience: Proven experience as a Mechanical Construction Manager with strong knowledge of HVAC systems and construction processes.

- Leadership: Ability to lead and manage teams, ensuring smooth coordination between subcontractors, clients, and project teams.

- Compliance Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of health, safety, and construction regulations and best practices.

- Project Management Skills: Strong commercial awareness and experience managing project schedules, costs, and quality.

- Communication Skills: Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
