About Oak Lodge School:

The School is a fully certified specialist school dedicated to supporting children and young people who are Deaf or have hearing impairments. Our team are skilled BSL users, committed to providing an inclusive, accessible, and empowering environment for our students.

The Role:

We are seeking a passionate and skilled Speech Therapist to join our multidisciplinary team. The successful candidate will deliver high-quality speech and language therapy to children with hearing impairments, supporting their communication development in both spoken English and British Sign Language (BSL).

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide specialist assessment, intervention, and therapy for students with hearing impairments
• Work collaboratively with teachers, families, and other professionals to support communication goals
• Incorporate BSL into therapy approaches, working alongside BSL-qualified staff
• Monitor and record progress, adapting interventions to meet individual needs
• Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to individual education plans

Person Specification:

• Qualified and HCPC-registered Speech Therapist
• Experience working with children with hearing impairments is highly desirable
• Competent BSL skills or willingness to learn and work closely with BSL users
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and organisational skills
• Flexible and adaptable approach, with a commitment to inclusive education
