Teacher of English

Your new companyHays Education is working in partnership with a forward-thinking secondary school in London to recruit a passionate and dedicated Teacher of English. This is an exciting opportunity for either an ECT or an experienced teacher to join a supportive English department committed to delivering high-quality teaching and learning.The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching English Language and Literature across KS3 and KS4, with opportunities to teach KS5 for suitably qualified applicants.

• Plan and deliver engaging, well-structured English lessons
• Teach across KS3 and KS4 (KS5 desirable)
• Assess, track, and support pupil progress effectively
• Create an inclusive and stimulating learning environment
• Contribute positively to the wider life of the school
• Uphold safeguarding and behaviour policies at all times

What you'll need to succeed

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in the UK (or equivalent overseas qualification)
• Strong subject knowledge in English Language and Literature
• The ability to inspire, motivate, and challenge students
• Excellent classroom management skills
• A commitment to safeguarding and promoting student wellbeing
• ECTs are very welcome to apply
