Cabinet Maker

A family run joinery company on the outskirts of Colchester, Essex are currently recruiting for a Cabinet Maker.

This position is paying between 34,000 - 39,300 per annum, depending on experience. This will lead to a permanent role after a successful 3 month probation period.

Overview of the role:
As a cabinet maker, you will be expected to work collaboratively within a team of 16 staff, while also demonstrating the ability to work independently and report daily to the workshop supervisor.

Hours of work:
Monday - Thursday, 7:30am - 4:30pm & Friday, 7:30am - 4:00pm (42-hour week)

Duties include:

• Using spindle moulders, tenoning machines, edge banders, speed sanding machines, cross cut saws plus much more
• Reporting stock levels to line manager
• Accurately record jobs on time sheets
• To produce kitchens and other high-end bespoke products from timber
• Ensure work is quality control checked to the required standard
• Utilise the correct machinery for the job and operate to safety guidelines
• Interpret drawings/job sheets & cutting lists

Candidate requirements:

• Strong Team Player
• Ability to read from technical drawings
• Good problem solving skills
• Apprenticeship, NVQ or Diploma in furniture/cabinet making or joinery
