Personal Care Assistant

• Job Type: Part-time Monday to Friday 10am-2pm- Term time only
• Location: Upper Norwood
• Salary: £15.55p/h -£17p/h

We are seeking a dedicated Personal Care Assistant to join our team at a Further Education Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) Centre, working with young adults aged 16-20. This role is crucial in supporting the daily needs and educational journey of our students.

• Provide personal care and support to students, ensuring their comfort and safety at all times.
• Assist with medication management under the supervision of healthcare professionals.
• Support the use of PEG (Percutaneous Endoscopic Gastrostomy) feeding tubes, following all health and safety guidelines.
• Work closely with healthcare assistants (HCAs) and educational staff to facilitate an inclusive and supportive environment for all students.
• Engage with students in educational and social activities, promoting their independence and learning.
• Maintain accurate records of students' care plans and progress.

• Experience in personal care, particularly within an educational or healthcare setting.
• Knowledge of medication administration and PEG feeding procedures.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• A compassionate and patient approach, with a commitment to supporting young adults with special educational needs.
• Relevant qualifications in health or social care are preferred.
