About the Role
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teacher to join our vibrant community of schools in Lambeth. This is a full-time position working with children across a range of settings - including mainstream schools supporting pupils with SEN, as well as specialist provisions and SEN schools.
This is an exciting opportunity for a teacher who is committed to inclusive education and who wants to make a meaningful difference to pupils with a variety of additional needs, including ASD, speech and language difficulties, SEMH, and complex learning profiles.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver high-quality, differentiated lessons that cater to the individual needs of pupils with SEN.
- Work closely with SENCOs, learning support assistants, therapists, and families to create tailored learning programmes.
- Monitor and assess student progress, using a range of strategies and assessment tools.
- Contribute to EHCP planning, reviews, and reporting.
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment.
- Adapt teaching approaches across different educational settings including both mainstream and special schools within the Lambeth borough.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) - essential.
- Experience teaching pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in either mainstream or special school settings.
- Strong understanding of SEND Code of Practice and inclusive teaching practices.
- Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills.
- A flexible, proactive, and compassionate approach to teaching.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all children.
