Neighbourhood Lead, managing a diverse housing portfolio and delivering an excellent tenancy and estate management service to residents.
THE ROLEAs a
Neighbourhood Lead, you will take responsibility for providing a high-quality housing management service to residents across approximately 250 properties, ensuring tenancy compliance, community engagement, and the delivery of safe, well-maintained homes. You will act as the lead officer for the team and deputise for the Neighbourhood Manager when required.
Key responsibilities include: - Delivering a full tenancy and estate management service, including new tenant sign-ups, tenancy audits, and fraud prevention
- Managing and resolving anti-social behaviour (ASB) cases and tenancy breaches in line with policy and legislation
- Monitoring arrears and supporting tenants at risk of legal action in partnership with the income recovery team
- Overseeing void properties and minimising rent loss through efficient turnaround and close partnership working
- Leading on resident engagement, ensuring customers have opportunities to influence service delivery and standards
- Liaising with internal and external partners on maintenance, compliance, and safety issues, including fire and gas safety
- Preparing reports, witness statements, and representing the council in court when necessary
THE CANDIDATEThe ideal candidate will have proven experience working in a
housing management or neighbourhood role within a local authority or housing association, managing general needs or temporary accommodation tenants with Assured Shorthold Tenancies (ASTs). You will be customer-focused, proactive, and confident in handling complex tenancy issues.
Essential skills and experience: - Strong background in tenancy management, ASB casework, and rent recovery
- Experience carrying out tenancy renewals, audits, and estate inspections
- Knowledge of housing legislation, tenancy law, and enforcement proceedings
- Excellent communication and report-writing skills, with the ability to manage complex cases
- Proficiency in IT systems - experience using NEC Housing would be highly advantageous
THE CONTRACTWorking Hours: 37 Hours per Week, Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm
Length of Contract: Fixed Term - 6 Months, potential for permanent
Pay Rate: £41,873 to £47,238 per year, plus benefits
Location: Hybrid working - 3 days office based in Slough
