Description
- Credit Analysis: Assist in performing in-depth credit evaluations of companies considered as potential counterparties to determine their credit strength and highlight possible risks. This includes analyzing financial statements and other key financial information to assess the overall financial condition and resilience of our clients.
- Risk Analysis: Contribute to the development of internal credit ratings and participate in group assessments of credit exposure by analyzing key elements such as sector dynamics, market environment, available collateral, and repayment capabilities.
- Credit Portfolio Oversight: Help supervise and review the performance of credit portfolios to detect potential threats or changes in risk profile. Recommend measures to reduce exposure when necessary.
- Reporting and Documentation: Support the creation of structured and concise credit risk reports. These should outline key insights, proposed recommendations, and supporting financial analysis for presentation to the company's internal Risk Committee.
- Mergers & Acquisitions: Collaborate with the internal M&A team to evaluate acquisition and investment opportunities. This includes preparing investment memos for the Investment Committee, drafting offer letters, participating in term sheet negotiations, and coordinating the due diligence process and transaction documentation with external advisors.
- Ongoing Risk Monitoring: Stay informed of developments in credit risk conditions and monitor broader macroeconomic indicators that may influence risk exposure.
Profile
A successful Credit Risk Analyst should have:
- Approximately 3-5 years experience in credit risk analysis within the banking or financial services sector.
- A strong understanding of the energy and natural resources industry.
- Credit exposure to FX or Soft Commodity clients is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in analysing financial statements and credit risk models.
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication abilities, both written and verbal.
- Familiarity with relevant regulatory requirements and industry standards.
- A degree in finance, economics, or a related field.
