English Teacher

Integrity Education Solutions are supporting a unique independent SEN group, that provides therapeutic education for children and young people with special educational / neurodiverse learning needs (SEN).

They are seeking to appoint an English Teacher to join their specialist provision for vulnerable neurodiverse young people in their community based therapeutic service based in East London, to start ASAP on a permanent basis.

You will be delivering lessons that are pupil-focused and creative, according to an agreed timetable, and with defined outcomes that link with their Education, Health, and Care Plan, aswell as working alongside Therapeutic Education Practitioners (specialist community-based learning mentors) in the planning, preparation and differentiation of all aspects of English virtual and small group face to face teaching and learning. Deliver direct teaching time (virtual or face to face) to meet the needs of pupils, ensuring lessons are pupil-focused and creative, according to an agreed timetable. Provide opportunities for pupils to experience/understand functional literacy skills in a range of contexts and through a range of resources and uses and devise schemes of work, lessons plans and curriculum projects that are differentiated to meet the needs of the pupils, utilising a full range of appropriate community facilities.

KEY EXPERIENCE

• Substantial experience of supporting neurodiverse children or with ASC and/or SEMH and an understanding of potential implications for communication, learning and behaviour patterns.
• Working knowledge of National Curriculum, KS requirements and Code of Practice for SEND.
• Knowledge and awareness of Safeguarding & Child Protection Procedures.
• Demonstrable achievement in improving learning outcomes.
• Recent proven experience as an outstanding teacher.

EDUCATION / QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

• Qualified Teacher (holds QTS or QTLS), with specialism in English / English Literature.
• Evidence of ongoing professional development in education.
• SEND qualifications or training (Desirable).

Salary: 40,000 - 55,000 (Dependent on experience)
