Location: Dover

Salary: £35,000 - £40,000 per annum

Hours: Monday to Friday 8am to 6pm with some Saturdays as required

About

We are a long-established transport company based in Dover. We have carried general cargo on the international market for many years. Whilst we still carry some general cargo, we are now focusing our attention on Aerospace. This is an extremely demanding transport sector which can span across several transport modes and continents. We may be attending an AOG (Aircraft On Ground) situation which will be closely monitored by the client and destination.

Due to a re-structure within the company we now seek a driven individual to work along side the Transport Manager and assist in the day to day running of the traffic desk.

The Role:

As traffic assistant you will support the transport manager and assist with the day-to-day operations. This may involve occasional yard work using a forklift. HGV licence would be an advantage but not essential. Help to develop the department alongside yourself with the idea to move up within the company as the department grows.

Key Responsibilities:

• Issue instructions to drivers.
• Input jobs information into the company operating system.
• Tie up drivers paperwork.
• Assist in fleet operations.
• Monitor vehicle usage.
• Raise sales invoices / pass purchase invoices
• Assist the Transport manager in all aspects of running the traffic department

What We Are Looking For:

• An understanding of international road transport and drivers hours.
• Basic computer skills for emails and use of our operating system
• Forklift experience
• Class 1 HGV
• Able to work under pressure and deliver results
• Willingness to learn and improve
