Japanese Stock & Accounts Controller

We're excited to be partnering with a leading international electronics manufacturing company based in Elstree, Borehamwood, to recruit an Accounting & Stock Controller.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with experience in inventory control and finance to join a growing business in a role that's both varied and hands-on. You'll be responsible for managing the flow of goods imported from Japan, ensuring every detail is recorded accurately from shipment through to final warehouse location. Working closely with a 3rd-party warehouse, you'll handle stock movements, purchase orders, reconciliations, and support the finance team with key accounting processes.

What you'll be doing:

• Track shipments from Japan and record as "Goods in Transit"
• Export and update shipment data in Excel, then re-upload to the system
• Raise and manage purchase orders (POs) and ensure all documentation is accurate
• Liaise with 3rd-party warehouse on stock arrivals, receipts, and transfers
• Process stock movements between warehouse locations
• Reconcile physical stock counts with system records
• Coordinate and participate in regular stock takes and cycle counts
• Match supplier invoices to POs and goods received
• Record landed costs (shipping, duties, insurance) accurately
• Assist finance with stock valuation reconciliations and discrepancy investigations

What we're looking for:

• Fluent Japanese speaker - for liaison with overseas head office
• Previous experience in inventory, stock control, and accounting support
• Familiarity with stock/ERP systems
• Strong Excel skills, including lookups and pivot tables
• Understanding of inventory flow and accounting basics
• High attention to detail with strong problem-solving skills
• Keen to learn and progress your accountancy career
