Highways Maintenance Engineer

Our client, a leading entity within the Highways sector, is currently seeking a skilled Highways Maintenance Engineer to join their team on a contract basis. The role is predominantly site-based within the Highways section of Engineering Group 2, with an option for working from home by agreement.

• Supervise and manage the delivery of highway maintenance and improvement projects.
• Plan and schedule works in line with the overall programme of works.
• Ensure the safe and efficient delivery of maintenance works including carriageway and footway resurfacing/reconstruction.
• Liaise with stakeholders, contractors, and other teams to ensure projects are delivered on time and to specification.

• Extensive experience in highway maintenance.
• Proven knowledge of the planning and delivery of highway maintenance works.
• Strong site supervision skills, ensuring safety and efficiency in maintenance operations.
• Excellent communication skills for liaising with stakeholders and contractors.
• Ability to work under pressure to meet project deadlines.

• Initial contract duration of 3 months, with the possibility of extension up to 12 months, subject to contract performance.
• Predominantly site-based role with an option for working from home by agreement.
