• 22.35 to 29.79 per hour weekends and Bank Holidays
• Monday to Friday plus occasional weekends
• 6:30 am start
• Minimum 8 to 10 hours per day
• PAYE Only

The Role

We are seeking reliable and skilled 3.5T Van Drivers to join a major waste management company located in Havering. The ideal candidates will be responsible for emptying public street bins in the Havering Borough district and transporting them to nearby waste management depots for recycling.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely operate a 3.5T cage vehicle and empty and transport bagged rubbish from various public bin locations to the waste depot.
• Load and unload bin refuse from the vehicle, ensuring proper handling safety.
• Conduct routine vehicle inspections and perform basic mechanical maintenance as needed.
• Maintain accurate bin collection records and communicate effectively with waste management staff regarding collection routes and schedules.
• Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations while driving, ensuring the safety of yourself and others on the road.
• Provide excellent customer service during collections addressing any queries or concerns professionally.

Experience and Requirements

• Valid UK driving licence with a clean driving record.
• Previous experience as a Van Driver or in a similar waste management role is preferred.
• Knowledge of waste management operations and logistics is advantageous.
• Strong communication skills to interact effectively with team members and the general public
• Basic mechanical knowledge to perform routine vehicle checks and minor repairs.
• Ability to lift heavy items safely and work in various weather conditions.
• A proactive attitude towards safety and compliance with company policies.
