Job Purpose: As the UKPN Services technical lead, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality designs for Gatwick Airport and other clients. You will ensure compliance with relevant legislation, client, and UKPN Services standards, and lead a team of engineers to produce top-tier design solutions. Your role will involve technical liaison with suppliers and clients, creating new business opportunities, and ensuring successful project delivery.
Principal Accountabilities:
- Develop and oversee the delivery of electrical infrastructure designs
- Provide technical input to the team and UKPN Services bids
- Ensure robust design solutions for accurate tender submissions
- Lead in developing business opportunities and preparing proposals
- Assess cost/benefit trade-offs and support technical decision-making
- Identify areas for technological advancement while maintaining engineering standards
- Manage design engineers for project delivery
Qualifications:
- Degree level or equivalent in engineering or science
- Excellent knowledge of power distribution, electrification, protection, and control systems
- Safety management qualification such as NEBOSH certificate or equivalent
- Membership of a professional body such as the IET
- Chartered Engineer or working towards Chartership
- Basic knowledge of project management

- Mentor junior staff in Health & Safety matters
