Equity Settlements Associate

A banking institution based in the City is seeking an Equity Settlements Analyst to join the capital markets operations team. In this role, you'll be responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely settlement of equity trades across multiple markets and counterparties. You'll work closely with traders, custodians, and internal stakeholders to maintain smooth post-trade operations in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the end-to-end equity settlements process for domestic and international trades.
• Reconcile trade confirmations and resolve discrepancies promptly to avoid settlement failures.
• Liaise with brokers, custodians, and clearing houses to ensure efficient trade settlement.
• Investigate and resolve trade breaks, unmatched items, and failed trades.
• Monitor and report on settlement status, ensuring adherence to regulatory and market deadlines (e.g., T+1 / T+2).
• Support daily operational controls and contribute to process improvements.
• Collaborate with internal teams (Middle Office, Finance, Risk, Compliance) to ensure accuracy and control across all settlement activities.

Skills & Experience Required

• 4-5 years in equity settlements, operations, or trade support within Capital Markets.
• Broad Market knowledge - Crest / Europe including Spain / South Africa / Canada / U.S / and some Asian / Pacific markets
• Strong understanding of settlement cycles, custody processes, and trade lifecycle management.
• Knowledge of SWIFT messaging and reconciliations advantageou
