Sports Coach / Teaching Assistant Roles Available

TeacherActive is looking for a passionate and upbeat Sports Coach / Teaching Assistant to work with us in various schools in the Southend On Sea area. This dual profession is perfect for people who are passionate about encouraging learning and physical health because it involves helping students with both physical education and classroom activities. You will cultivate a supportive and welcoming learning environment for students while assisting them in the development of critical academic and athletic skills.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in delivering sports and physical education lessons to students of varying ages and abilities.
• Support teachers in classroom settings, providing assistance with academic lessons and activities.
• Encourage student engagement in sports, promoting health, fitness, and teamwork.
• Help manage behavior and maintain a positive learning environment both in the classroom and on the sports field.
• Assist in the preparation of lesson plans, resources, and equipment for PE lessons.
• Work closely with other staff to identify and support students with individual needs.
• Provide one-on-one or small group support as needed to boost students' academic and physical progress.

Requirements:

• Experience in sports coaching or physical education (relevant qualifications are desirable).
• Previous experience working with children or young people in an educational setting.
• A passion for both physical education and academic development.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to work as part of a team, supporting teachers and engaging with students.
• A valid DBS check (or willingness to apply for one).
• Flexibility to work across different schools in Essex.
