  • Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:00am to 5:30pm

We are currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated HGV Workshop Foreman to lead our dynamic team in Wimbledon. This pivotal role involves overseeing a team of technicians and fitters in a bustling HGV workshop, ensuring all operations are executed with precision and efficiency. The successful candidate will demonstrate a robust blend of technical expertise and leadership acumen, upholding our commitment to excellence and proactive service.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily operations within the HGV workshop, ensuring all activities are carried out in compliance with company standards.
  • Lead, coordinate, and motivate a team of technicians and fitters, fostering a collaborative work environment.
  • Provide technical guidance in mechanical repairs and advanced diagnostics, actively participating in hands-on tasks.
  • Ensure all work is completed accurately and within set timeframes, adhering to the highest quality standards.
  • Maintain meticulous records of jobs and effectively communicate with both office and workshop staff.
  • Handle administrative duties related to job scheduling and reporting as needed.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement, encouraging team development and learning.
  • Manage vehicle preparation, cleaning, and maintenance, ensuring readiness for workshop entry and MOT presentation.
  • Uphold stringent safety standards and ensure all operations comply with organizational policies and procedures.
  • Efficiently manage inventory and procurement of vehicle parts to minimize downtime.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as an HGV Workshop Foreman, preferably within a similar workshop environment.
  • In-depth technical knowledge of HGV maintenance and repair, including hands-on diagnostic capabilities.
  • Exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills, with a proven track record of motivating and managing teams.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a high-pressure environment.
  • A steadfast commitment to safety, quality, and customer service excellence.
  • Continuous professional development in HGV operations and management.
  • Valid Class 1 or Class 2 HGV driving licence.
  • Level 3 Heavy Vehicle Qualification (City & Guilds/IMI/NVQ or equivalent).
