Job Overview:

Our client, an established family-run manufacturing company based near Basildon, is seeking an experienced Financial Systems Accountant (12 months Contract). This crucial role will lead the design, implementation, and integration of a new financial system (SAGE Accounts 50) to replace the outdated Lotus Approach 97 system. The goal is to ensure a seamless transition to a streamlined financial platform that improves financial reporting, compliance, and operational performance across the organization.

Key Responsibilities of the Financial Systems Accountant (12 months Contract):

System Implementation & Integration:

• Lead the design, configuration, and implementation of the new financial system.
• Manage the full project lifecycle, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and meeting stakeholder expectations.
• Conduct system analysis and design product functionalities, documenting key processes.
• Coordinate data migration strategies and ensure smooth integration with other business functions.
• Perform system testing and address any issues or challenges during the implementation process.

Data Management & Analysis:

• Analyze complex datasets across multiple Excel spreadsheets to identify trends, inconsistencies, and opportunities for improvement.
• Integrate and analyze data from various departments, including stock, pricing, purchasing, and sales, to provide critical financial insights.
• Develop and implement data protection strategies, ensuring compliance with GDPR and other privacy regulations.

Leadership & Stakeholder Coordination:

• Work closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure effective communication and collaboration throughout the project.
• Stay updated on emerging trends in automation and software innovations, identifying opportunities to integrate new technologies that enhance operational efficiency.
• Collaborate with senior leadership to identify areas where cloud technologies can drive innovation in accounting practices.

Required Skills & Experience:

• Proven experience in accounting system configuration and integration (SAGE 50 or similar packages).
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.
• Demonstrated leadership and project management experience, with a track record of delivering projects on time and within budget.
• Excellent Excel skills and experience working with accounting systems in a manufacturing environment (preferred).
• Full UK Driving License (due to client location).

Desirable Skills:

• Familiarity with continuous integration tools and project management methodologies (e.g., Agile).
• A background in manufacturing would be advantageous.

Please note, you must be a car driver for this role as the location of the office is not accessible by public transport. This role is full time in the office.
