Creative Media and Music Technical Assistant

This is a fully campus-based, part-time temporary role, working around 10 hours per week, typically spread across Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, with flexibility depending on departmental needs. This is an evolving role that may offer the opportunity for additional hours over time. The position offers an hourly rate of £18.95 plus holiday pay. You'll play a vital part in supporting the media and music departments by maintaining equipment, assisting with training, and ensuring a smooth technical experience for both staff and students.

• Respond to student queries and provide technical support via the shared inbox.
• Manage equipment loans and returns, conducting inspections and minor maintenance.
• Maintain and label inventory, ensuring all equipment and accessories are in full working order.
• Prepare cameras, sound recorders, and music equipment for teaching and practice sessions.
• Support staff and students by creating instructional materials and assisting with training.
• Keep the equipment storeroom safe, tidy, and well-organised.

• Strong knowledge of film, sound, and recording equipment.
• Excellent organisation and communication skills.
• Confident working collaboratively with staff, students, and academics.
• BA in Film Production or a related subject.
