Interim Head of Curriculum & Quality - SENDLocation: Sutton (on-site, 5 days per week)Contract: Interim - 3 months initially (potential extension)Rate: Up to £350 per day (Umbrella)Start: ASAPWe are seeking an experienced and impactful Interim Head of Curriculum & Quality - SEND to lead and strengthen our SEND provision during a key period of development and improvement.This is a senior leadership role, ideal for an accomplished SEND or FE professional with a strong background in curriculum leadership, quality assurance, and team management within post-16 education.
Key Responsibilities - Lead and manage the SEND curriculum, ensuring it is high quality, sustainable and aligned to strategic priorities.
- Drive improvements in teaching, learning and assessment across SEND provision.
- Oversee quality assurance processes including SARs, QIPs, internal audits and inspection readiness.
- Line manages tutors, assessors and IQAs, including performance management and professional development.
- Monitor and improve learner outcomes including attendance, retention, achievement and progression.
- Ensure compliance with Ofsted, funding body and safeguarding requirements.
- Build effective partnerships with employers, community organisations and key stakeholders.
- Contribute to strategic planning, curriculum development and quality improvement activity.
Essential Experience - Significant leadership experience within SEND, Further Education, Adult Education or Post-16.
- Proven track record of managing curriculum and quality in an education setting.
- Strong knowledge of Ofsted / Education Inspection Framework and quality improvement processes.
- Experience leading and managing teaching staff, including performance management.
- Strong understanding of SEND provision and supporting learners with additional needs.
- Confident working at senior level and driving improvement in a fast-paced environment.
Desirable - Qualified teacher status (PGCE / Cert Ed / DTLLS or equivalent).
- Experience as a SEND Manager, Head of Curriculum, Quality Manager or similar.
- Experience acting as a Safeguarding Officer
