Islington Council, rated an Outstanding borough by Ofsted, is seeking an experienced Child In Need Social Worker to join their dedicated Children's Services team. If you're passionate about making a positive impact in the lives of children and families, this could be the ideal role for you.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage a caseload of Child In Need (CIN) cases, conducting detailed assessments using Islington s trauma-informed practice model.

• Develop and implement outcome-focused support plans in collaboration with children, families, and partner agencies.

• Utilise Motivational Interviewing and relationship-based practice to build trust and encourage positive change.

• Lead Child In Need meetings, chair multi-agency discussions, and contribute to Child Protection and Court proceedings when necessary.

• Apply systemic practice principles to assess family dynamics and provide tailored interventions that strengthen family resilience.

• Collaborate closely with specialist services within Islington s integrated model, including Family Hubs and community resources.

• Ensure all actions are recorded accurately and in compliance with statutory regulations, contributing to reflective supervision and case reviews.

Requirements:

• Qualified Social Worker with Social Work England registration.

• Experience in a Child In Need team or similar statutory children's social care setting.

• Strong knowledge of relevant legislation, including the Children Act 1989.

• Demonstrated experience in applying trauma-informed, systemic, and relationship-based practices.

• Ability to work flexibly in a hybrid environment, with office attendance as required.
