We are looking for a dedicated Youth Offending Officer to join our Youth Justice Service (YJS) and play a crucial role in preventing offending and re-offending among young people.
About the Role As a Youth Offending Officer, you will:
- Work directly with children, young people, and their families to provide tailored support.
- Conduct thorough assessments and write detailed reports for courts, panels, and professionals' meetings.
- Manage complex cases, including those involving serious youth violence, harmful sexual behaviour, and gang-related activity.
- Engage with young people subject to court orders, ensuring they receive the right interventions and guidance.
- Adhere to Youth Justice Board (YJB) policies, performance indicators, and National Standards.
- Ensure all assessments, reviews, and data submissions are completed on time.
We are looking for someone with: - Strong communication and engagement skills to work effectively with young people and families.
- Experience in youth justice, social work, probation, or a related field.
- The ability to manage risk and safeguard the welfare of young people and the community.
