Your new role
As the Accountant, you will be responsible for managing the full spectrum of financial operations and reporting. Your key duties will include:
- Overseeing daily finance functions including accounts payable/receivable, payroll, bank reconciliations, VAT returns, and general ledger maintenance.
- Preparing monthly financial reports and presenting insights to the owner.
- Leading the budgeting and forecasting process, and developing financial plans.
- Conducting performance monitoring and variance analysis.
- Ensuring compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal controls.
- Coordinating audits and liaising with external advisors, auditors, and financial institutions.
- Supporting strategic decisions through financial modelling and scenario planning.
- Enhancing financial systems, policies, and procedures for improved efficiency.
- Managing credit card reconciliations and related analysis.
- Delivering ad hoc financial projects as required by the owner.
What you'll need to succeed To be successful in this role, you should bring:
- A minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar accounting role.
- Strong understanding of financial reporting, budgeting, and analysis.
- Proficiency in Sage 50 or equivalent financial software.
- Excellent analytical and communication skills.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- A flexible, proactive attitude with a strategic mindset.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
- QBE, part-qual or studying towards an accounting qualification (ACCA, CIMA etc.)
