About the Opportunity:
A prestigious and well-established global organisation is seeking an experienced Senior Building Surveyor to join its dynamic and expanding commercial building consultancy team. Key Responsibilities:
  • Comprehensive Building Consultancy Services: Provide expert advice on a wide variety of commercial property matters, including project management, contract administration, dilapidations, landlord and tenant matters, pre-acquisition surveys, and technical due diligence.
  • Client Relationships & Business Development: Actively manage and grow client relationships, with a strong emphasis on business generation and fee income. Cultivate long-term client connections and take a leadership role in the department s growth.
  • Team Leadership & Mentorship: Mentor junior surveyors and contribute to their development by providing guidance and support. Be a positive role model within the team, fostering a collaborative and inclusive working environment.
  • Project Delivery & Technical Expertise: Lead projects from inception to completion, preparing specifications, producing Reinstatement Cost Assessments, managing dilapidations, and offering technical guidance on building pathology and defects analysis.
  • Cross-Selling Opportunities: Work closely with other divisions to identify opportunities for cross-selling services and promote the firm's broader capabilities.
  • Professional Excellence: Uphold the highest professional standards by adhering to deadlines, maintaining confidentiality, and ensuring clear communication with clients and stakeholders. Ensure work is managed efficiently and in line with the organisation's best practices.
Key Skills & Experience:
  • Qualifications: RICS Chartered Building Surveyor (or equivalent).
  • Experience: Significant experience in building consultancy, particularly in the commercial sector. Expertise in project management, dilapidations, and technical due diligence is essential.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency with AutoCAD (2012 or later), Microsoft Office Suite, and ideally NBS Specification Writer. A solid understanding of Health & Safety legislation and CDM Regulations is necessary.
  • Client-Focused: Proven ability to generate new business and maintain strong, long-lasting client relationships.
  • Leadership & Mentoring: Experience in mentoring and supporting junior members of the team, with a desire to take on more leadership responsibilities.
  • Professional Competence: Strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently while contributing positively to a team.
