Job Title: BTL Underwriter Location: Office-based, 5 days a week
Salary: From £55k+ (Dependent on Experience)
Job Overview: We are seeking an experienced BTL (Buy-to-Let) Underwriter to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years' specialist BTL experience and be able to analyse various documents and data to assess the eligibility and associated risks of BTL applications. You will be responsible for maintaining detailed records, liaising with brokers and valuers, and ensuring compliance with internal procedures and service level agreements (SLAs). Key Responsibilities: - Analyse documents and data received from intermediaries to assess eligibility for BTL products.
- Evaluate the risk associated with BTL applications.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of underwritten policies.
- Liaise with brokers and valuers to ensure accurate risk assessments of BTL applications.
- Ensure SLAs are met for all BTL applications.
- Determine the appropriate wording of Special Condition(s) for the offer.
- Release the final Mortgage Offer.
- Adhere to compliance standards and internal procedures.
- Work both independently and collaboratively within the team.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with brokers and other key stakeholders.
Key Skills & Qualifications: - Minimum of 3 years' specialist BTL underwriting experience.
- Strong analytical skills with a focus on attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Proven track record of building strong working relationships with brokers and other parties.
- Ability to use initiative and make informed decisions.
