Exhibition Logistics Specialist
Position is office based and includes International travel to Exhibitions both in UK and Overseas. The position requires International travel 5-6 times a year with each trip duration lasting up to 2 weeks.
Operational Duties:-
- Investigating and planning the most appropriate route for a shipment, taking account of the perishable or hazardous nature of the goods, cost, transit time and security.
- Arranging appropriate packing, taking account of climate, weight, nature of goods, cost, and the delivery and warehousing of goods at their final destination.
- Negotiating transportation and handling costs with agents, suppliers and contractors.
- Obtaining, checking and preparing documentation to meet customs and insurance requirements, packing specifications, and compliance with other countries' regulations.
- Offering consolidation services by air, sea and road, ensuring cost-effective and secure solutions.
- Liaising with UK and international agents and suppliers regarding the safe transit and arrival of consignments.
- Arranging payment of freight and other agent/supplier charges and invoicing charges to client/exhibitor.
- Utilising tracking systems to enable tracking of cargo and keeping the exhibitor updated of status.
- Arranging air/road/sea transportation for urgent and high-value freight and managing the risk door to door.
- Acting as broker in customs negotiations worldwide to guide the freight efficiently through complex procedures.
- Arranging and dealing with special arrangements for transporting out of gauge, fragile, hazardous cargoes within certain time frames.
- Maintaining communication and control through all phases of the journey from door to stand and subsequent return.
- Maintaining current knowledge of relevant legislation, political situations, International Public holidays and other factors that could affect the movement of freight.
- Onsite Representation for build-up, duration and tear-down of events.

Administrative, Sales & Marketing Duties:-
- Preparing shipping instructions and shipping forms.
- Sales & Marketing: Using direct marketing & e-marketing to market our freight exhibition services to exhibitors, trade associations, organisers, agents and contractors.
- Preparing quotations for movement of clients shipments to/from exhibitions.
Working hours
- Working hours will be 08:00 - 16:30 Monday - Friday
