This small and friendly school is a nurturing and inclusive special needs school in Reading, dedicated to supporting children with a range of complex needs, including social, emotional, and mental health challenges. We are looking for a compassionate, resilient, and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join oa ur committed team and make a real difference in the lives of their pupils.

Primary focus:Pupils with SEMH needs, which may include:
- Emotional regulation challenges
- Behavioural difficulties
- Social interaction issues

Additional needs often supported:
- Autism Spectrum Conditions
- Learning difficulties
- Pupils with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs)

Specialist support includes:
- Tailored interventions based on the Nurture Group Model
- A short-term intervention programme called The Lakes Centre for pupils struggling to engage in mainstream settings due to behavioural and emotional challenges.

- Small school setting with a capacity of around 32 pupils

What You'll Do:
- Support pupils in their learning, both in and out of the classroom
- Work closely with teachers and other professionals to deliver tailored educational and emotional support
- Help create a safe, engaging, and positive learning environment
- Encourage independence, confidence, and personal development in every child
What We're Looking For:
- Experience working with children or young people, especially those with special educational needs (SEN), is desirable but not essential
- A calm, patient, and empathetic approach
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- A genuine passion for helping children thrive
