SEND Teaching Assistant - Barnet
Reed Education are working with a welcoming special school in Barnet who are seeking a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to join their supportive team.
This is a rewarding opportunity to work closely with children and young people who have a range of special educational needs, including autism, speech and language difficulties, social, emotional and mental health needs, and moderate to complex learning difficulties.
About the Role- Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils, helping them to access learning and develop confidence.
- Assist the class teacher in planning and delivering engaging lessons tailored to individual needs.
- Support pupils with personal care, communication, and behaviour when required.
- Create a safe, positive and inclusive environment where all pupils feel supported.
- Work closely with teachers, therapists and other staff to provide a holistic approach to learning and wellbeing.
About You- Experience of working with children or young people with SEND, either in a school or care setting.
- A patient, compassionate and resilient approach.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs to achieve their full potential.
- Relevant qualifications such as CACHE, NVQ or equivalent are desirable but not essential.
