SEND Teaching Assistant - Barnet

Reed Education are working with a welcoming special school in Barnet who are seeking a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to join their supportive team.

This is a rewarding opportunity to work closely with children and young people who have a range of special educational needs, including autism, speech and language difficulties, social, emotional and mental health needs, and moderate to complex learning difficulties.

• Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils, helping them to access learning and develop confidence.
• Assist the class teacher in planning and delivering engaging lessons tailored to individual needs.
• Support pupils with personal care, communication, and behaviour when required.
• Create a safe, positive and inclusive environment where all pupils feel supported.
• Work closely with teachers, therapists and other staff to provide a holistic approach to learning and wellbeing.

• Experience of working with children or young people with SEND, either in a school or care setting.
• A patient, compassionate and resilient approach.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs to achieve their full potential.
• Relevant qualifications such as CACHE, NVQ or equivalent are desirable but not essential.
